Everything we see hides another thing, we always want to see what is hidden by what we see.

René Magritte

Blissful and surreal, these are the first two words that come to my mind watching this video. Last week six member of the dance troupe BANDALOOP performed this amazing piece, suspended in front of the facade of a 17 story building in Boston.

The suspended state not only allows them to perform unusual combinations, but it also confers that gravity-defying graceful lightness that prolongs the movements, giving the viewers time to appreciate every single step in the sequence.

Because of the camera angle, the sky often differs from its reflection on what looks almost like a mapped surface, reminding me of René Magritte and his playful, improbable perspectives. They look like two slightly different realities brought together by the poetry of dance and music.

Definitely bookmark it for those moments when you’re feeling low!
