February is the coldest month of the year in the Northern hemisphere. The last few weeks before the spring begins are always the worst aren’t they? That’s why I want to fast forward a few weeks and start to get ready for the new season ahead. Here are my favorite looks for the Spring-Summer 2017 from six eco-friendly fashion designers I recently discovered.

Eco fashion Spring Summer 2017 Humanoid

HUMANOID

From its origin as a Punk, New Wave collective in the ’80s, Humanoid still maintains a strong spirit of innovation and independence, which translates in an original, sometimes daring, but always wearable line.

For the Spring summer 2017 their Caraf wrap skirt skirt is a real wardrobe jolly. Layer it over wide-legged pants for an edgy look or wear it tight to the skin with heels for a sexy chic effect. The skirt is made of 50% viscose 50% cupro (fiber from recycled cotton) and it is available in 5 colors, all muted hues perfectly in trend for the SS17. $ 140 at ShopHumanoid

ECO-CRED

Humanoid is committed to reduce waste and pollution throughout its production line. Most garments are produced in Europe with high labor standards.

LAURA SIEGEL

I discovered Laura Siegel collection at the fashion shows last Fall and it was love at first sight. The palette of indigo and natural whites together with the silhouettes of fisherman pants and kimono tops are definitely spot on the major trends of the season.  At the moment of writing their site is not updated yet, but here is a preview from the lookbook.

Eco-fashion spring-summer 17 Shosh New York

SHOSH NEW YORK

Another discovery of the fashion shows: Shosh New York. Creative and yet elegant and wearable, the SS17 collection is build around neutral colors, a-line tops, wide leg pants and loosely pleated dresses. The only exception of the neutral color rule is this rain jacket, which is also the signature piece for the Spring Summer 2017 collection: a carefully constructed A-line oversize top made of taffeta from recycled plastic bottles. With its fabulous rust color it’s definitely a garment that will make any look rock. $ 750 from Shosh New York

VLAS BLOMME

Vlas Blomme is a Japanese brand with a Flemish soul. Indeed, their signature is the Kortijk linen that they export to Japan where it is woven into fabric with century-old machines. Their SS17 collection is inspired to a romantic country wedding. It’s all about oversize silhouettes, layered patterns, indigo, neutral colors and natural whites.

Eco-Fashion Spring Summer 2017 Anaak

ANAAK

Anaak style is very feminine, romantic with subtle ethnic influences. The mission is to preserve ancient textile techniques by working in partnership with local artisans. The reference for the Spring Summer 2017 line is the novel “The Sheltering Sky” by Paul Bowles. The looks are inspired by the nomadic people of Rajasthan, where the fabrics and garments of this collection are manufactured. I particularly love this layered look mixing subtle stripes and floral embroidery in a very organic and elegant way.
